
DEPARTMENT HISTORY
The Lime Rock Fire Department was in-cooperated in 1950. It has grown to include two fire stations, housing 25 professional firefighters. LRFD firefighter/EMT’s pride themselves in providing a high level of customer service in the Town of Lincoln, RI
The Lime Rock Fire Department is an all-risk fire department that is trained and ready to respond to any type of emergency that Town of Lincoln may face. Our firefighter/advanced EMT’s/paramedic and specialized teams respond to structure fires, vegetation fires, auto fires, public service issues, emergency medical services, traffic collisions, confined space rescues, water rescues and hazardous materials incidents from our two stations located in two response districts. The department has taken on an All Hazards approach to meeting the needs of the community. The department consists of 20 Full time and 10 Part time uniformed firefighters operating on a four-platoon system. We staff two Class A pumpers which are both licensed with the State of Rhode as Class C1A Advanced Life Support Units. Engine Company 3 and Chief 3 along with Administrative staff are located at Station 3 at 1085 Great Road. Engine Company 8, Engine Company 9, Boat 3 and Car 3 are located at 20 Twin River Road.
STATISTICAL DATA
Population of 6500 for the Lime Rock Fire District with over 25,000 in the Town of Lincoln. The Lime Rock Fire District (District 3) covers approximately 12.9 square miles. This includes residential houses, commercial property, Twin River Casino, Community College of Rhode Island Lincoln Campus, Davis Vocational School and the Town Senior Center. District 3 is situated to handle all of the incidents on Route 146 from the North Providence to North Smithfield.
